Bombers get second chance for redemption
Semi Final 1: Buninyong v Hepburn
SHOCKWAVES went through the Bendigo & Rural Bank Central Highlands Football League as the top seed and minor premiers, Buninyong, were not only beaten by Waubra, but absolutely spanked. Hepburn on the other hand did it more comfortably against the Emu’s with Sam Dunstan slamming home is 100th of the season in a seven-goal haul. It is a mouth-watering clash between two major power houses in the competition with many pundits think Dunstan will fire again and send the Bombers packing in straight sets. Prediction – Hepburn in a genuine flip of the coin.
Semi Final 2: Gordon v Beaufort
Without question the Eagles were gallant in defeat against Newlyn as the Cats classy midfield was just too much to handle. It was a battle of the small forwards in the Crows Elimination Final with Lachlan Murray kicking six despite Billy Driscoll’s three goals almost being enough for the Tigers to cause an upset. Gordon are a quality side who has been there and there about for a number of years and staring down the barrel of clean sweep exit again should be enough to motivate Ron Watt’s men to get over the line. Prediction – Gordon by 24 points.
