Club fundraising favourite returns

Offering a cash prize of $1500 for the lucky winner on the night, the event is set for Saturday 21 February at the Kookaburras' club rooms where it has become a well established annual fixture.

THE Inverleigh Cricket Club is getting ready for one of its favourite annual fundraising events, the reverse raffle, with tickets selling fast.

“It’s not very hard to sell these tickets,” club president David Peel said.

“Once our reverse raffle gets advertised they go pretty fast.

“We use it every year to raise money for the general costs of running the club, rates, water bills, all the general costs in running a club.

“We also put a lot of it into the junior program as well. We’ve always kept the junior fees very low to try and attract more juniors.”

Offering a cash prize of $1500 for the lucky winner on the night, the event is set for Saturday 21 February at the Kookaburras’ club rooms where it has become a well established annual fixture.

“It would have been running for at least 10 years,” Mr Peel said.

“This function is one of our largest fundraising opportunities and it is always a great night.

“This year’s raffle will once again follow Ladies Day, making it a super Saturday at the club.

“We encourage all players, supporters, families and community members to purchase a ticket and come along.

“If you’re interested in purchasing a ticket please just direct message our Facebook page and we can help you out.

“Tickets for the reverse raffle are $60, which admits two adults and includes two hours of complimentary beer, wine and soft drink, as well as the chance to take home $1500.

“Once again Ladies Day will flow directly into the annual reverse raffle event.”

Also a good fundraiser for the club, Ladies Day proved very successful when the club introduced it last year with a led painting masterclass, complete with expert tuition, attracting quite a few ticket sales from well beyond the Inverleigh area.

This time it is returning with some new attractions including wine tasting, a Lucien Blooms’ flower arranging class, and a pre-loved market all on the program.
