Dee’s need to keep their heads above Lakies water

Bungaree v Learmonth
MATCH of the round as eleventh host ninth and the Demons look to move into the top eight in the Bendigo Bank & Rural Bank Central Highland Football League seniors. Bungaree survived a scare from the Magpies last weekend, meanwhile the Lakies went down to Skipton in a nail bitter and will be hoping for interleague representative, Kyle McKay, to carry on his good form and see his side to victory. Prediction – Learmonth by under a goal.

Buninyong v Creswick
The Wickers caused the upset of season when they downed archrivals Newlyn and would fancy their chances against the Bombers in round 10. Derrick Micaleff was on target with four goals in a best on ground performance up forward and at home on the big expanses of Buninyong, he will be looking for another decent effort. Prediction – Buninyong by 30 points.

Dunnstown v Hepburn
Still winless and on the bottom of the ladder it doesn’t get any easier for the Towners as pressure builds on coach Justin Abrams to get his side on the board. The Burra were too good for Gordan last week with the McKay brothers dominant and Sam Dunstan booting yet again another five goals taking his season tally to 44. Prediction – Hepburn, Dunstan to kick 10.

Gordon v Rokewood-Corindhap
Both sides were on bad side of big losses last week, but you’d expect the Eagles to be too good in this one. The Hoppers can’t buy a win at the moment and have undone all their good work at the start of year with finals firmly out of reach yet again. Prediction – Gordon comfortably.

Newlyn v Ballan
Shockwaves were sent through the league when the Wickers got up over the Cats this past Saturday, but this shouldn’t faze Newlyn with the struggling Blues not in the greatest of touch right now. Ballan have struggled to kick a winning score so far this season, and with the Cats likely to recall Myles Sewell, this one could get quite ugly. Prediction – Newlyn by ten plus goals.

Skipton v Daylesford
It is fair to say the scoreboard didn’t reflect the competitiveness of the Bulldogs last weekend against leader leaders Waubra, however that doesn’t mean Zac Tisdale’s chargers will improve enough to be any real challenge for the Emu’s. Still in fifth place, Skipton will be hoping for a big victory against Daylesford to try and move into the top four for the first time in a very long time. Prediction – Skipton by 48 points.

Springbank v Clunes
A massive 122-point victory over Ballan has meant the Tigers are back where they belong in the top-eight. Kirean Maher was excellent, while Tim Horan bagged five majors in the big win for the Tigers. The Magpies gave Bungaree a scare, can they do it again in this one? Prediction – Springbank in a close one.

Waubra v Carngham-Linton
Off the back of the bye and a win, the fresh Saints under interim coach, Tom Sarah, now have the toughest test in footy against the undefeated Roos. It shapes up to be a big opportunity for the young Saints to get a front row tick to the James Lukich show, who put on another clinic last weekend with five goals against the Bulldogs. Prediction – Waubra to flex their muscles
