Eagles and Tigers to go head-to-head for CHFL flag
Gordon v Springbank
MARS Stadium will host Gordon and Springbank as the two sides play for Central Highlands Football League premiership glory this Saturday.
The matchup will be the third time two sides have gone head-to-head in season 2022, with the Eagles claiming bragging rights in both encounters.
In their respective preliminary finals, Gordon got the job done in workmen like fashion over Dunnstown winning comfortably by 27-points.
Meanwhile, Springbank did it the hard way against Hepburn coming from behind in remarkable scenes to snatch the upset victory, kicking five to one in the final term.
Todd Finco has been the Tigers Mr September this post season and is such an important cog in the forward line, whether it is kicking goals or setting up key forwards Stephen Staunton and Zak Bozanich.
When talking about the Eagles all eyes go to the last name Griffiths with Sam, Billy and Macauley all featuring prominently throughout season 2022.
The difference between these two sides is naturally very little, both possess the ability to score heavily but also quickly, but the difference might be the Eagles’ defence that his held together by their captain, Mark Gunnell.
It has been 24-long years for Gordon fans, and come Saturday that wait may finally come to an end from 2.45pm on Saturday.
Prediction: Gordon by 24 points.
