Eureka flag raised at state criterion

NINE Eureka Cycling Club riders ventured to Campbellfield for the VCV State Criterium Championships, with medals collected in each of the events they contested.

Matthew Bowman won the Division A – Men race. James Knipe won the Division D – Men race. While Jason Hendry placed third in the Division B – Men race.

Meanwhile 26 riders competed across four divisions on a sunny Weatherboard circuit last Sunday. The strong northerly wind made the 50km races extremely tough.

Division 1 – 1st – Matt Elkan, 2nd – Sam Smith, 3rd – Rob Ellis
Division 2 – 1st – Matt Ayres, 2nd – Craig Lightfoot, 3rd – Jeremy Humber
Division 3 – 1st – Steve Linane, 2nd – Danny Whelan, 3rd – Bob Morley
Division 4 – 1st – Jakkii Dawson, 2nd – Robert Young, 3rd – Graeme Parker
