Footy stats deal by the numbers

STATS and analytics nerds are set to get a big boost in 2022 with the announcement that the Ballarat Football Netball League has signed a deal with Premer Data.

The agreement will see a range of data points and stats gathered from all senior football games next season, with a statement released by the league saying the numbers, “will tell the full story of how the games have been won and lost.”

“As the leading competition stats provider across community football, Premier Data have a proven track record of efficiency, accuracy and professionalism that will further enhance the Ballarat FNL’s standing as the most prominent and progressive league in regional Victoria,” the statement said.

Premier Data founder Tony Pucella said he was looking forward to the opportunity to provide in-depth analytics on Ballarat Football League games.

“This is an amazing opportunity to help showcase some of the best footballers in the state, while helping to provide an added level of excitement and commercial opportunities to the clubs and Ballarat FNL after some challenging years,” he said.

“The Ballarat FNL is one of the strongest leagues in Victoria, and its ability to tell the story by the numbers only enhances its standing as a destination league.

“Coaches and clubs will look forward to the most comprehensive breakdown of matches and the season with endless stats and vision to leave nothing to chance.”
