BALLARAT Turf Club has received cash from the State Government to help with hosting events at the Miners Rest venue.

Member for Wendouree, Juliana Addison, recently announced the money that will go towards several planed and previously held race days.

The $14,000 from the Victorian Racing Industry Fund Raceday Attraction Program helped with the recent Miners Rest Community Cup Day, this weekend’s Support Your Local Firefighter Raceday on 24 March and upcoming the Mother’s Day Raceday set for 12 May.

“Events like the Autumn Raceday Series help to bring the community together,” Ms Addison said.

“We are proud to support the Ballarat Turf Club to host entertaining family race days, create local jobs and bring visitors to the Ballarat region.”

Turf Club CEO, Lachlan McKenzie, said the money was appreciated.

“We strive to present racing and race day activities to attract new racegoers, whilst also meeting the expectations of regular attendees. The Victorian Government makes this possible through the support from the Raceday Attraction Fund,” he said.
