Grants issued for sports clubs
BUILDING company Winslow Constructors has handed out grants worth six-thousand dollars to area sports clubs.
Recipients include Ballarat Storm Junior Football Netball Club, the Miners, Brown Hill Cricket Club and Ballarat Gymsports.
The grants were made as part of the company’s Build Your Club program.
“Winslow recognises that all sport really starts at a community grass roots level, and that’s where we’re keen to lend a hand,” said Stuart Jacquet, Winslow’s General Manager of Business Development.
“The kids and young adults running around in local sports clubs are the children of our Winslow people, or they might even work for the company themselves, and this type of practical on the ground support is absolutely in line with our company’s core community values.”
Major benefactor, Ballarat Storm, received $3000 towards their new scoreboard fundraising effort.
The Miners will put their $1000 towards increasing participation among underprivileged kids in the Wendouree area.
Brown Hill Cricket Club also received $1000 which will go to an all-girl U12 cricket team, while Ballarat Gymsports will put the same amount of money into their special needs program.
