Joy on Mount Misery

FINE weather with a westerly breeze made for fantastic Eureka Cycling race conditions on Sunday, 10 February.

Thirty-six riders assembled for a 45km handicap race on the famous Mount Misery circuit.

Stuart Brien led a determined four-minute group which dominated the day after combining with the five-minute group.

Dean Wells stole a break over the Weatherboard climb with 3km remaining, however victory was snatched away in the last one hundred metres as Brien and Peter Canny led home a small bunch finish.

Race Results – 1st – Stu Brien (4 min), 2nd – Peter Canny (5 min), 3rd – Peter Kiel (4 min), 4th – Bob Braszell (5 min), 5th – Grant Dawson (5 min).

Fastest Time – Peter Canny (Scratch) in 1h 4m 45s, ave. 41.3 Kph.
