Kierce claims championship

THE Ballarat District Bowls Division held its Over 60 Singles Championship final at the Victoria Bowling Club recently in a comp that ultimately saw City Oval teammates Ann Maddeley and Elizabeth Kierce send the jack down in the final.

Kierce had an impressive start scoring the first seven ends holding a lead of 12 before Maddeley registered her first shot on the eighth.

Maddeley scored a few more ends but Kierce’s lead was too big to overcome, and she went onto a comfortable win. Kierce will now represent the BDBD at regional level.
