Men’s Triples down to final four

THE first two knockout rounds of the Men’s Ballarat District Bowling Division Triples were played on Sunday at Sebastopol Bowling Club showcasing some very tight games.
Archie Baker played in his first BDBD event with his father and grandfather. They won their first game by one-shot 16-15 defeating the team skipped by Geoff Gullocks. In a comeback effort they were 8-0 down on the third end. Nine-years-old Archie Baker is playing Saturday Pennant in Division 7 at Sebastopol Bowling Club for the first time this year. He is hoping to improve this season and make it to Division 5 next year. He is also playing in the Club Pairs with his father and the in the Minor Championship.
In other games Wayne Pattie also had a one-shot victory in the first game defeating Ken Birch 17-16. Wayne Roberts had a two-shot win against Col Hayes 15-13. The former was down 12-0 on the seventh end. Roberts went on to defeat Rob Baker in the second round 25-10. Paul Lovell beat Lindsay Trounce 20-14, however they were knocked out in the second round. That game was was a last bowl thriller with Pattie winning by one-shot, 15-14. Jacob Croft defeated Ryan Bedggood 20-11 and Norm Hand had a win over Barry McArthur 16-6.
The remaining four teams will playoff in the semi-finals and the top two, the final, to be played next Sunday.
