Pam Collins Triples rolls on despite heat

HIGH temperatures didn’t stop the 90 bowlers who turned out for the Pam Collins Triples event that took place on 30 January.

Held at Central Wendouree, the start time was brought back to 10.30am to make it more comfortable for competitors.

With eight teams winning both games, a count back was needed to determine the ultimate champions, who were Liz Aitken, Betty Paton and Aileen Kerr.

Second place went to Carlene Bowers, Ces Gunn and Lois Marriot.

Third was taken by Judith Caddy, Elise Bennett and Helen Seilers.

Scattered Rink honours included Judy Wilson lead, Sally McCracken 2nd, Helen Kinnersly skip.

The monthly Triples Event is named in honour of former member Pam Collins, who with husband Ken presented the winners with their prizes.
