Saturday Pennant hits halfway mark

BALLARAT lead after defeating Creswick, 94-44. Victoria’s strong win against Buninyong, 87-50, jumps them into second place. In a close game Webbcona downed Learmonth, 65-62, for third on the ladder. Sebastopol’s loss against Central Wendouree, 70-59, drops them to fourth spot. BMS had a win over Mt Xavier, 74-60. At the halfway point in the season Sebastopol, BMS, Central Wendouree and Buninyong are in the mix along with the top three teams.

City Oval had a good win against Smeaton, 108-68 and hold on to top spot while Smeaton maintains third. Linton proved too strong for Webbcona winning, 111-76, keeping them in second spot. Avenue defeated Waubra, 101-74, and jump up two places into fourth. Midlands also move up two places defeating Sebastopol, 103-66. Ballarat East comfortably beat Beaufort, 109-88. Seven teams are fighting for the top four positions.

In an extremely close contest Victoria defeated BMS, 109-102, giving the victors a 20-point jump on their foes who held second. Ballarat North had a great win against City Oval, 118-69, seeing them into third position, just one point behind BMS. Ballarat secured the win against Invermay, 94-89. Daylesford defeated Ballan, 91-81, and Buninyong verses Clunes was a draw 97-97.

Bungaree got the win over Central Wendouree, 108-92, and top the table. Creswick defeated Linton, 102-81, to move into second place by percentage over Learmonth, who had a good win against Avenue, 108-78. Sebastopol defeated Webbcona, 111-79, good for fourth spot. Smeaton defeated Midlands, 99-88.

Victoria’s three rink win over Buninyong, 111-94, sees them into first place by one point over BMS, who lost to City Oval, 106-90. Sebastopol had a good win against Central Wendouree, 109-69, and move into third. Daylesford defeated Mt Xavier, 100-90, and Webbcona were given a walkover by Avenue.

DIVISION 5
There are fifteen points separating the top six teams in this division. Despite losing to City Oval, 108-80, Smeaton held top spot. Waubra defeated Sebastopol, 106-79, and jump three places into second. Victoria had a close game against Learmonth, 90-82, and take third on the ladder. Midlands loss to Creswick, 92-84, drops them two spots into fourth place. Beaufort defeated Ballarat East, 110-75.

BMS defeated Central Wendouree, 101-90, and hold onto top spot. Ballarat North had a four rink win against Sebastopol, 110-80, and move up two places into second spot, dropping Central Wendouree to third. Clunes defeated Bungaree, 102-94. Invermay defeated Victoria, 97-80, and City Oval had a win against Webbcona, 98-86.

Linton had a bye this round and after receiving the correct points from the washout round, they are ladder leaders by two points. They are followed closely by Ballarat whose win over Victoria, 109-67, puts them in second place. Midlands defeated Buninyong, 108-83, and are sitting third. Ballan had a good win over Mt Xavier, 119-69, and Sebastopol narrowly defeated BMS, 98-94.

DIVISION 8
Waubra are leading the field by 20 points after their win over Smeaton, 52-39. Despite a loss to Ballarat North, 50-41, Daylesford held second and Ballarat North third. Learmonth had a strong win over Bungaree, 78-24, and jump up four spots from the bottom of the ladder. Central Wendouree move up a spot on the back of a win over City Oval, 50-40, and Ballarat gave Buninyong a walkover.
