GOLDEN Plains Shire staff are encouraging everyone in the region to offer their ideas and input in the next council plan.<\/p>\n

With a new group of councillors set to be introduced this month, the municipality is calling on residents and groups to help steer the organisation’s priorities with the development of the Council Plan 2025-2029.<\/p>\n

Golden Plains Shire CEO, Shane Walden, said it’s important for the municipality to hear what its community wants done in the region over the next four years.<\/p>\n

“Whilst the Community Plan 2025-2029 is a legislative requirement, this is secondary to council wanting to understand the current community aspirations,” he said.<\/p>\n

“We want to reach all sections of our community through this engagement process to ensure the Council Plan 2025-2029 captures the community aspirations and guides the key actions that will drive progress in the Golden Plains Shire over the next four years.”<\/p>\n

Those looking to give their feedback for the council plan and their hopes for the Shire can do so via an online Have Your Say survey which closes on Friday 29 November.<\/p>\n

The survey can be completed online at the consultations page at the municipality’s website.<\/p>\n

Alternatively, physical copies can be picked up either at the Bannockburn Customer Hub or The Well at Smythesdale.<\/p>\n

Community consultation sessions, including Thinktank sessions, are expected to be held during November and December, the results of which will be summarised by municipal staff in a What We Heard report by the end of January.<\/p>\n

Golden Plains Shire’s Municipal Health and Wellbeing Plan will be embedded in the new guiding document, which itself will be aligned with the municipality’s Community Vision 2040, Asset Plan and Financial Plan.<\/p>\n
