Committee president Jay Cook said Inverleigh as a township had contributed more than $720,000 since the event began in 1997 (last year’s raised over $40,000) when donations independent of the fun day were taken into account.<\/p>\n

“So this year will push us over three quarters of a million dollars,” he said. “We hope to raise at least the same as last year.”<\/p>\n

Mr Cook said the committee also expected to have at least as many stallholders present as last year (there were about 80), but capacity exists at the venue for more.<\/p>\n

“If we finish about where we were last year we’d be pretty happy,” he said.<\/p>\n

Similarly, Mr Cook said they are hoping to again attract close to 5000 people \u2013 the attendance figure from 2024 \u2013 on Good Friday, if not more.<\/p>\n

The Inverleigh and District Good Friday Appeal Family Fun Day will take place at Victoria Park from 10am on Friday 18 April.<\/p>\n

Activities and attractions will include an Easter egg hunt, an appearance by the Easter Bunny, carnival rides, a petting zoo, toy workshops, live entertainment, an emergency services display, food and market stalls, face painting and more.<\/p>\n

The fun day is a major crowd-puller in the region.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Entry will be free but tickets to participate in the Easter egg hunt, rides and other activities are $7 each and can be pre-bought at shoutforgood.com\/event-ticketings\/Inverleighgfa<\/a> .<\/p>\n

Tickets will also be available on the day. All-day wristbands are available for $35 or three for $95, and the web link can also be used simply to donate to the appeal.<\/p>\n

One hundred per cent of money raised from ticket sales and donations goes directly to the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal.<\/p>\n

Mr Cook agreed the fun day is likely one of the region’s biggest, if not the biggest, Good Friday Appeal event.<\/p>\n

“There used to be one years ago in Leopold, but it folded, so we’re the only one to this scale that we know of,” he said.<\/p>\n

“There are obviously Good Friday events everywhere, but to this scale we’re the last one left locally.”<\/p>\n

Mr Cook said he wanted to thank individuals and organisations for their continuing support year after year, and their willingness to contribute their time and resources to the event.<\/p>\n
