TAKE part in a unique culinary experience, including a picnic on Nimons Bridge, this February.<\/p>\n

The event, which is organised by the Woady Yaloak Historical Society, is part of the region’s Forage and Feast Festival.<\/p>\n

It is the second year the society is hosting the picnic.<\/p>\n

“Everyone who went [last year] had an absolute ball and said they would like to do it again and see it continue,” Woady Yaloak Historical Society member Lin Hocking-Turnbull said.<\/p>\n

To be held on Sunday 15 February, the event will begin from 10.30am at the Courthouse Hotel in Smythesdale. There will also be an opportunity for prior pick-up in Ballarat at Delacombe Town Centre and at Haddon Community Centre.<\/p>\n

The tour will then go to the Royal Hotel in Linton with complimentary canapes and a drink.<\/p>\n

Following that, the picnic on Nimons Bridge will begin with local food and two complimentary drinks.<\/p>\n

The event will conclude at the Courthouse Hotel with live music and drinks, and drop-off at Haddon and Delacombe is available.<\/p>\n

Nimons Bridge was built in 1890 as part of the Ballarat-Linton railway line and is more than 100 metres long, standing 19 metres above the Woady Yaloak River.<\/p>\n

Ms Hocking-Turnbull said the event is about showcasing what the area has to offer.<\/p>\n

“We’re quite a niche sort of area, we’re so close to Ballarat, it’s 15 minutes from Delacombe and people just don’t realise what we’ve got,” she said.<\/p>\n

“It’s a great way to highlight businesses and different features in the land.”<\/p>\n
