Homicide Squad detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a man in Geelong overnight.<\/p>\n

Emergency services were called to a hospital on the corner of Myers and Swanston streets about 2am on Monday 23 February.<\/p>\n

Officers attended and located a man deceased inside a room at the facility. He is yet to be formally identified.<\/p>\n

Another man, who was also a patient at the hospital, is currently under police guard.<\/p>\n

Police have confirmed the two parties were known to each other.<\/p>\n

A crime scene has been established and investigations into the exact circumstances of the incident remain ongoing.<\/p>\n

Anyone who witnessed the incident, has CCTV, dashcam footage or further information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report online at crimestoppersvic.com.au.<\/a><\/p>\n

Police have not released further details at this stage.<\/p>\n
