CHRISTINE Shaw, Loreto College Ballarat\u2019s newly appointed Principal, is a passionate leader in girls\u2019 education and brings with her a distinguished career in educational leadership across regional and metropolitan independent schools.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Commencing as the College\u2019s 32nd Principal in January, Christine\u2019s vision is to lead with faith and purpose, fostering a learning community where every student is known, valued, and empowered to thrive as a confident and compassionate learner.<\/p>\n

As she steps into this role, she carries not only the responsibility of academic excellence, but also the privilege of shaping the confidence, faith, and ambition of the next generation of female leaders.<\/p>\n

As the only Catholic girls\u2019 school in Ballarat, Loreto College has long held a distinctive place in shaping the educational landscape of the region. It offers a holistic education tailored to the unique learning needs of girls and empowers its students to discover their individual learning styles, inspiring them to aim for excellence and thrive in all areas of life.<\/p>\n

Research consistently shows that girls educated in an all-girls school achieve higher levels of academic success, develop greater levels of confidence, and set more ambitious career goals. However, it takes visionary leadership to translate those opportunities into impact.<\/p>\n

Christine is already a familiar and highly respected member of the Loreto community, having served as Deputy Principal of the College for four years, including several periods as Acting Principal. She has been instrumental in shaping the College\u2019s strategic direction, educational vision, and inclusive culture. Her professional focus has been on organisational culture development through leading curriculum, wellbeing, and pastoral care, with a passion for holistic and purposeful strategic planning enhancing the student experience.<\/p>\n

Developing curious, creative, compassionate, and ethical women of action is at the heart of all we do at Loreto College and providing quality education that celebrates inclusivity, respect, and trust is what Christine loves about the College.<\/p>\n

For the students who will walk the corridors of the College under her leadership, her appointment signals a new beginning for Loreto Ballarat.<\/p>\n

In her opening address at the commencement of the school year, Christine told students that beginnings invite us to pause, to breathe, and to recognise the quiet promise held in the first steps we take along any new journey.<\/p>\n

They remind us that God is gently opening new possibilities with us and around us, planting beginnings that will unfold in their own time, even if we cannot yet see how they will grow.<\/p>\n

It is in these more profound moments that Christine\u2019s impact will be felt most. Leadership in a Catholic girls\u2019 school is not merely about the day-to-day. It is about formation.<\/p>\n
