THE date of a farmers market has fallen at the perfect time for Easter egg-cellence.<\/p>\n

The Golden Plains Farmers’ Market will be held tomorrow on Easter Saturday at the corner of Milton and High streets in Bannockburn from 9am to 1pm.<\/p>\n

As the market coincides with the holidays, there will be Easter bags for children, along with a jumping castle, face painting and a scavenger hunt at The Heart playground.<\/p>\n

Activities are free and no bookings are required.<\/p>\n

A spokesperson for Golden Plains Shire said it was an opportunity for market organisers and participants to embrace Easter.<\/p>\n

“Easter is a time when people naturally come together, and we wanted to build on that by creating a lively, welcoming atmosphere at the market,” they said.<\/p>\n

“The monthly market is a fantastic occasion for many locals, and adding some Easter fun is our way of celebrating community and making the day enjoyable for everyone.”<\/p>\n

The market has been running since 2009.<\/p>\n

It hosted at least 35 stalls per month, and the spokesperson said the market had become “a cornerstone of our local community”. “Its purpose has always been simple but meaningful: to connect people directly with the farmers, growers, and makers who shape our region,” they said.<\/p>\n

“The market provides a relaxed, welcoming space where visitors can discover fresh, seasonal produce, support small businesses, and enjoy an authentic taste of the Moorabool Valley.<\/p>\n

“At its heart, the market exists to strengthen community, celebrate local talent, and keep the region’s food culture thriving.”<\/p>\n
