{"id":105550,"date":"2026-04-13T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2026-04-12T18:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/goldenplains\/?p=105550"},"modified":"2026-04-08T22:39:59","modified_gmt":"2026-04-08T12:39:59","slug":"plan-to-guide-sports-action-at-inverleigh-reserve","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/goldenplains\/news\/plan-to-guide-sports-action-at-inverleigh-reserve\/","title":{"rendered":"Plan to guide sports action at Inverleigh reserve"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A MASTER plan is being developed for the Inverleigh Sporting Complex at Inverleigh Recreation Reserve.<\/p>\n<p>Golden Plains Shire staff are seeking ideas and feedback from Inverleigh residents and users of the reserve on what they would wish to see done with the site into the future, and how they would like to see the facility run so it is accessible to everybody.<\/p>\n<p>The aim of the document will be to ensure the space is catering to the ever-changing needs of the town and surrounding district through the shared vision of locals and stakeholder groups.<\/p>\n<p>Golden Plains Shire mayor Cr Owen Sharkey said the master plan will help guide potential devopment and resource allocation, and invited anyone who enjoys the sports precinct to share their perspective.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;As Inverleigh and surrounding towns continue to expand, it&#8217;s vital that our community facilities evolve with them,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The master plan will give xcouncil a clear roadmap for future development of the Sporting Complex,guiding investment and decision-making for many years to come.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Thoughtful planning now means we can deliver facilities that truly support the way our community lives, plays and connects.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The Master Plan will help us prioritise upgrades and investment so the Inverleigh Sporting Complex can continue to grow alongside the township, ensuring it remains a high-quality, accessible space for everyone.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Inverleigh Sporting Complex Master Plan feedback period is open until 5pm on Wednesday 29 April.<\/p>\n<p>After submissions close, a draft master plan and will be written up to be presented to councillors and residents for consideration and further consultation later in 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Visit <a href=\"http:\/\/goldenplains.vic.gov.au\/consultations\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">goldenplains.vic.gov.au\/consultations<\/a> to contribute, or organise a paper submission at one of the Golden Plains Shire Customer Hubs at 2 Pope Street, Bannockburn or 19 Heales Street, Smythesdale.<\/p>\n<p>Contact <a href=\"mailto:enquiries@gplains.vic.gov.au\">enquiries@gplains.vic.gov.au<\/a> or 5220 7111 for more information.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A MASTER plan is being developed for the Inverleigh Sporting Complex at Inverleigh Recreation Reserve.
