IN 1978 Sebastopol Primary relocated from its original site behind the Sebastopol Bowling Club to its current site in Yarrowee Street.<\/p>\n
Teachers and students were involved in the planning and design of the school.<\/p>\n
It was one of the first examples of open, flexible learning spaces for children in Ballarat.<\/p>\n
Students walked to their new school along Yarrowee Street carrying their school belongings on a cold September day.<\/p>\n
It was a memorable occasion that brought school families and the community together.<\/p>\n
Many of these families still regularly meet and enjoy lifelong friendships that started at the school.<\/p>\n
Past teachers and student involved with the relocation can remember the excitement and thrill of moving into a modern building that included specialist learning spaces, open classrooms, an indoor atrium and large grounds.<\/p>\n
