TO provide care for an ageing population the Health Services of Ballarat and Beaufort Skipton have developed an innovative program, Care of the Older Persons \u2013 COOP.<\/p>\n

A total of ten staff from both services recently graduated and attained certification from the COOP program.<\/p>\n

A recent event, celebrating the completion of the pilot program, showcased the work undertaken by the graduates, highlighting the knowledge gained and practice achieved within the specialty of Gerontology while providing networking opportunities for the 20 new participants coming into the program in 2019.<\/p>\n

COOP recognises that the older person can be seen in all clinical environments and having an extended level of knowledge around this specialty area is crucial for optimal person-centred care.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
