THE annual Burrumbeet Cup will jump from the starting barriers this New Year\u2019s Day at Burrumbeet Racecourse.<\/p>\n
Hosted by Burrumbeet and Windermere Racing Club, the meeting will see seven races run and is a day out appropriate for the whole family.<\/p>\n
The feature race, sponsored by Petrogas, will be run over 1800 metres.<\/p>\n
Lesley Vaughan, club manager of Burrumbeet Park and Windermere Racing Club said the day is always different from any other race meet and the kids\u2019 attractions will be a drawcard.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis year the club has been selected to host Chris Humfrey and his Wild Action Zoo. There\u2019s three 30-minute shows and he\u2019ll be there with animals throughout the day.\u201d<\/p>\n
Amongst the huge list of kids\u2019 entertainment is a footrace \u2013 to dash down the home straight – and a performance from the Mik Mak\u2019s with a meet and greet.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s a family oriented, relaxing day out. There\u2019s just so much to do,\u201d Ms Vaughan said.<\/p>\n
For adults, Lake Eyewear is supporting the Fashions on the Field event, and sports clubs can enter the Laminex Community Bowl.<\/p>\n
Groups can bring along their own picnic or enjoy the on-course catering.<\/p>\n
Entry is free for children under 16 accompanied by an adult and general admission tickets are $20.<\/p>\n
Concession tickets will be at the gate only, available with a valid entitlement card for $15.<\/p>\n
