FRIENDS of Ballarat Botanical Gardens are inviting all members of the public to take a Twilight Tour with them this Friday evening, 25 January.<\/p>\n
The tour aims to act as a prelude to Australia Day celebrations, as those involved will look more closely at the Australian identity and how it has emerged, as they walk around the gardens.<\/p>\n
The Prime Ministers\u2019 Walk – and contributions made by the PMs depicted – will be a specific focus.<\/p>\n
Convenor of the FBBG Guides, Terry O\u2019Brien said the group is keen to make a new use of the Prime Ministers\u2019 busts which are inspiring and unique visual reminders of our changing times.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re looking forward to creatively using the Prime Ministers Avenue as a space to reflect on our history,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Guides are looking forward to a tour that connects with Australia Day and provides an opportunity to be both reflective and informative.\u201d<\/p>\n
Everyone is welcome to meet at the Robert Clark Conservatory under the shade of the Turkey Oak, to start the tour at 5pm. It will run for an hour.<\/p>\n
Another tour guided by the FBBG will run on Friday, 8 February at the same time, with a focus on the statues within the gardens.<\/p>\n
Attendees will discover the significance of the unique artworks, the stories behind them and how they\u2019re maintained.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
