BALLARAT Soccer Club are joining men\u2019s State League 5 West.<\/p>\n
The senior teams will compete against clubs from Melbourne\u2019s west and the north side of Geelong, getting an entry level feel of the quality and progress of state competition.<\/p>\n
BSC\u2019s Lucy Brennan said the club is very excited, gearing up for their best season yet, where they can bridge the gap between local and higher state leagues.<\/p>\n
Coach, Jamie Winton is looking forward to a challenge and his new bunch of players coming together.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s important for the club. We\u2019re looking forward to the opportunity for better players to step up to another level. It\u2019s a more serious level of playing, training commitments are greater, and requirements are greater,\u201d Mr Winton said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ve got five weeks of preseason training. It\u2019s exciting to see how they grow and perform together\u2026 and make sure they gel.\u201d<\/p>\n
There is opportunity for BSC to be promoted up a league in the next season if they make an impression, but Ms Brennan emphasised that\u2019s not a priority.<\/p>\n
