INVERMAY Progress Association is inviting people to spend a late summer\u2019s afternoon socialising outdoors, in support of the local CFA.<\/p>\n
At Wightwick Winery this Sunday, 3 March between 12.30 and 5pm, the public is welcome to come along with a chair to enjoy gourmet sausages, gelati, boutique beer, coffee and, of course, Wightwick\u2019s wine.<\/p>\n
There will be live music from The All Ordinaries and The Harmonies.<\/p>\n
Pam Toom, vice president of the Invermay Progress Association said the atmosphere at the event is always convivial.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe food is good and the music encourages folk to get up and dance,\u201d she said. \u201cDuring the afternoon there is an auction of wines and other goodies, and a quiz testing your musical knowledge.\u201d<\/p>\n
IPA hope the event will be a great fundraiser for Invermay CFA which is pursuing extra equipment to enhance their firefighting capabilities.<\/p>\n
\u201cInvermay CFA attends many fires each summer, locally and in the wider Victorian community,\u201d Mrs Toom said.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur 2018 event saw our CFA volunteers quietly slip away, with the truck, to attend the fire at the intersection of the Western Freeway and Midland Highway.\u201d<\/p>\n
The event is in its third year and has raised approximately $12,000 to date.<\/p>\n
\u201cWith views west to the Pyrenees, south across the city of Ballarat and north to Creswick State Forest, Wightwick\u2026is the ideal place to spend a summer\u2019s afternoon with your friends,\u201d Mrs Toom said.<\/p>\n
