{"id":19918,"date":"2019-03-06T13:15:39","date_gmt":"2019-03-06T02:15:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/goldenplains\/?p=19918"},"modified":"2019-03-07T11:41:10","modified_gmt":"2019-03-07T00:41:10","slug":"eyes-on-quality-care","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/goldenplains\/news\/eyes-on-quality-care\/","title":{"rendered":"EYES ON QUALITY CARE"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Patient centred focus for OPSM\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Optometrist who\u2019s building a life\u00a0<\/strong><strong>and career in Ballarat and setting\u00a0<\/strong><strong>a new standard in client care<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>RAJINDER Uppal graduated from Optometry at the University of Melbourne 18 years ago and brought her first OPSM Optometry franchise, in Wendouree, four years later.<\/p>\n<p>Rajinder said she always wanted to work in healthcare, and optometry simply fell into her lap.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOPSM has given me the right opportunities at the right time, I just needed the courage to embrace them,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>What she particularly loves about working in regional areas is the ability to build connections with her patients.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have treated patients from when they were in prep with their first pair of glasses, to when they left University,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOver that time, I have been able to build relationships with their whole families.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo be able to achieve that is an accomplishment\u2026 the fact that they keep coming back means that I am doing something right.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Rajinder also loves the variety of her work. \u201cOn any given day I get to switch between seeing patients, to coaching young team members, to coming up with creative ideas of how I can improve my business, all while maintaining our focus on delivering high quality eye care,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere aren\u2019t many industries where I\u2019d be able to do that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Rajinder said it\u2019s important that Optometrists continue to deliver high quality eye care.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOver the next 10 years I think we are going to see a lot of challenges for the profession. What I hope is that we continue to be respected for what we do. Optometrists play a crucial role in our communities,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt a time when everybody seems to be striving for higher volume, it is important to me that when patients come to my practice, they can be assured that we\u2019ll spend the time to get to know them, as well as their visual needs, and we\u2019ll exceed their expectations by delivering exceptional eye care and high-quality product.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI want my practice to be role models in the optical franchise world.
