But if you find yourself with a spare moment, reshuffling the furniture in a room and adding a feature piece is a great way to breathe new life into your home with minimal effort.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A chair is an ideal feature piece to opt for because of its practicality, and ability to accommodate various budgets and existing interior aesthetics.<\/p>\n<p>If you don\u2019t want to spend a fortune, pair a softwood such as timber with an economical fabric. But if you\u2019re prepared to commit to a higher standard of design and materials, furniture never fails to be a great investment. Keep in mind that a good quality piece can always be re-covered in the future.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo matter what sort of look you already have in your home, there will be a chair out there that could fit right in as a feature and bring that personal touch and fresh look,\u201d Mr Taylor said.<\/p>\n<p>Metricon\u2019s key considerations when choosing your feature chair:<\/p>\n<p>Setting \u2013 Will it be a cosy chair nestled in the corner of a living room, or an elegant feature piece that adds pizazz to your bedroom? Determining its location is the first important decision.<\/p>\n<p>Size \u2013 Work out the maximum length, depth and height measurements that you have to work with; it\u2019s important that the proportions of the chair match the space and complement the size of the surrounding furniture.<\/p>\n<p>Style \u2013 Consider how the shape and design of the chair will fit in with the room and your home\u2019s aesthetic, and also whether you want it to match or contrast against the colour scheme.<\/p>\n<p>Suitability \u2013 Consider whether the material and colour that you\u2019ve chosen will suit your lifestyle, both in terms of comfort and ease of cleaning, particularly if you have pets or young children.
