THE Ballarat community is invited to enjoy Miners Rest Primary School and Kindergarten\u2019s biennial fete on Friday, 29 March from 5pm.<\/p>\n
Stall holders from markets across the district will be on site, alongside competitions and events coordinated by the school\u2019s students.<\/p>\n
There will be live entertainment, plenty of catering, a book fair, jumping castle and games for all ages.<\/p>\n
Principal, Dale Power said the whole school has contributed to organising the twilight event.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are a united and active community. Public events, such as our forthcoming fete, unites our school community further and provides a great learning opportunity for our students,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
The fete also creates a practical literacy, numeracy and scientific context so students can engage with their learning in a different way.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe welcome family, community members and any inquisitive members of the broader community to come down and enjoy the amazing offerings at our fete,\u201d Mr Power said.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur growing kindergarten and school will truly appreciate any support.\u201d<\/p>\n
The first fete was held in 2015, and since then, the school has grown by 30 per cent.<\/p>\n
More than 400 students are currently enrolled and the facility has recently received state government funding for a new campus.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
