{"id":20577,"date":"2019-04-04T15:20:16","date_gmt":"2019-04-04T04:20:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/goldenplains\/?p=20577"},"modified":"2019-04-04T15:20:16","modified_gmt":"2019-04-04T04:20:16","slug":"warralily-wins-national-environmental-award","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/goldenplains\/real-estate\/warralily-wins-national-environmental-award\/","title":{"rendered":"Warralily wins national environmental award"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>GEELONG\u2019S own Warralily\u00a0<\/strong><strong>development at Armstrong\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Creek has taken out the\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Environmental Excellence\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Award at the 2019 Urban\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Development Institute of\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Australia National Awards for\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Excellence against a field of\u00a0<\/strong><strong>state and territory finalists.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Warralily was Victoria\u2019s only winner at this year\u2019s National awards event held in the Gold Coast on Thursday night, strengthening the estate\u2019s position as the most awarded urban environment in the Geelong region.<\/p>\n<p>Warralily Director Mark Casey said that it is an honour to be recognised by Australia\u2019s peak industry body UDIA National, as \u201cthe best of the best\u201d for our commitment to innovation, sustainability and community development with the capacity to transform people\u2019s lives for the better.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFrom the project\u2019s inception our vision was to create a truly modern and liveable community where the urban environment lives in harmony with the natural environment,\u201d Mr Casey said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur early focus on rejuvenating Armstrong Creek laid the foundation for the community\u2019s distinctive sense of place and intimate relationship with its landscape.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis sort of outcome can only be achieved when clear project objectives have been established and diligently delivered on a consistent basis from planning through to on-the-ground implementation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mr Casey acknowledged the City of Greater Geelong for the foresight to implement a dedicated team to assist developers in bringing the dreams of the Armstrong Creek growth corridor to reality.<\/p>\n<p>The 380-hectare greenfield site, positioned between the Geelong CBD and the Surf Coast\u2019s iconic beaches, is the largest and leading development in the growth corridor.<\/p>\n<p>Civil, landscaping and infrastructure investment to date has hit the $780 million mark, 68 stages are complete and over 550 lots are currently under construction.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGeelong has a fantastic community with great lifestyle features which are increasingly sought by homemakers \u2013 with everything on offer here, it\u2019s not surprising that Warralily has experienced unprecedented interest from local and Melbourne buyers.\u201d Mr Casey said.<\/p>\n<p>The thriving community of over 7000 residents enjoy the very best of contemporary urban design with retail, education, sport and community facilities on their doorstep and ready proximity to the coast and connections to Geelong and Melbourne.<\/p>\n<p>Warralily General Manager of Development Mark Whinfield said the project team\u2019s mission was the development of an authentic community where its residents would live, work and play close to nature.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAn important part of ensuring the project vision was carried through in the delivery was a committed and passionate project team who have been working on the project since its commencement,\u201d Mr Whinfield said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe transformation of Armstrong Creek and the open space network has been a priority \u2013 creating an environment with high biodiversity values and linkages to quality community assets and services;
