GEELONG\u2019S Attitude Dance Company will perform a production in Ballarat for the first-time next month.<\/p>\n
On Saturday, 4 May, the independent theatre group\u2019s Impact Ensemble will bring Ours: an intimate evening of contemporary dance and live theatre<\/em> to the Ballaarat Mechanics\u2019 Institute.<\/p>\n The show is directed by Xavier McGettigan, a 27-year-old choreographer originally from Ballarat, and explores ownership, belonging and community in eight dance works by Geelong and Melbourne\u2019s best emerging talent.<\/p>\n \u201cThis is a very special show to me,\u201d Mr McGettigan said. \u201cAttitude Dance Company has always been about honest performances in dance, developed in a fun and inclusive environment.<\/p>\n \u201cThe structure and approach to this production, I hope, provides a new and intimate experience for audiences in addition to the high-quality dance we have become known for,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n \u201cWe are very excited to be making our debut in Ballarat with this original work.\u201d<\/p>\n The production features a small live band with Federation University Arts Academy vocalist, Emily Jacker-Lawrence. The audience will be seated in a round to intimately experience the intense, moving, personal and emotional stories performed.<\/p>\n
