THE Art Gallery of Ballarat is holding several kid-oriented events this winter break with holiday program activities tying into the current Becoming Modern exhibition.<\/p>\n
The workshops involve visits to the exhibition to see artwork by Australian women artists from the 1920s, 30s and 40s. Kids will then have a chance to try out some of the ideas they have seen in the show.<\/p>\n
Art Bites is a full-day class for children aged five to seven years old. It will be on offer twice during the holidays, once Monday, 1 July, where kids can create sculptures, while on Monday, 8 July, they\u2019ll get to experiment with landscape painting and collage.<\/p>\n
Art Camp is a three-day workshop for students aged eight to 14 years in which they experiment with a variety of materials and techniques to create finished artworks ready for display. They will work together to create a pop-up exhibition and display their work for family and friends.<\/p>\n
