The game saw the debut of mercurial forward Jarrah Maksymow in the senior lineup for the Lions and the spearhead didn\u2019t take long to get on the board with a goal in the opening 30 seconds of the match being one of the highlights but also the catalyst for a solid four goal outing.<\/p>\n
Coach, Travis Hodgson, says the club is \u2018elated\u2019 to have Maksymow out there every week and agrees with most pundits that, \u201cHe could be the difference between just making up the numbers and going all the way in 2019.\u201d<\/p>\n
The win for the Lions means they are now just one game off top spot in fifth place, and with games against the Ballarat Swans and the struggling Panthers in the coming weeks, there is no reason the club can\u2019t push for another minor premiership.<\/p>\n
\u201cWithout disrespecting our coming opposition, because the league is so tight this year and there is no easy game, but wins like this has given us a really good opportunity to open up our season,\u201d Hodgson said.<\/p>\n
