TESSA Marshall will pay homage to the women who have influenced her singing career in her upcoming show, A Tribute to Female Singers over the Past 90 Years.<\/p>\n
Ballarat based Marshall will perform songs from Amy Winehouse, Carole King, Ella Fitzgerald and Kate Bush in an intimate cabaret setting at Creswick Courthouse Theatre.<\/p>\n
Marshall is passionate about recognising the contribution a range of female artists over many decades who have influenced her musical style.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve always enjoyed extending myself musically and becoming more versatile in my repertoire of songs and performances,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is a wonderful opportunity to explore a range of styles from women of different musical genres and eras.\u201d<\/p>\n
Marshall believes it is important to support and create live music, in particular in regional areas to ensure continuity of programs and opportunities for performers.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs a self-funded show solo show I chose the Courthouse Theatre because of its cosy setting,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is a small venue where the audience will be seated at tables and chairs and people can buy a drink from the bar and a BYO nibble and get up and dance if they wish.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cAs seating is limited, I encourage the audience to book early so they don\u2019t miss out on what will be a great night of music.\u201d<\/p>\n
