{"id":22994,"date":"2019-07-30T08:16:46","date_gmt":"2019-07-29T22:16:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/goldenplains\/?p=22994"},"modified":"2019-07-30T08:16:46","modified_gmt":"2019-07-29T22:16:46","slug":"black-dog-ride-comes-to-ballarat","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/goldenplains\/news\/black-dog-ride-comes-to-ballarat\/","title":{"rendered":"Black Dog Ride comes to Ballarat"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>THE 2019 Black Dog Ride Around Australia will arrive in Ballarat this Saturday, 3 August, raising funds and awareness of mental health and suicide prevention.<\/p>\n<p>Beginning last Friday in Busselton, Western Australia, the motorcycle ride will last 35-days, travelling over 15,000km anti-clockwise through places like Esperance, Mount Gambier, Lakes Entrance, Canberra, Cairns, Darwin and Broome, to finish off where it began.<\/p>\n<p>During their ninth night, the convoy will enjoy dinner and stay at Sovereign Hill, heading out via Eureka Street and Old Melbourne Road the next day.<\/p>\n<p>Victorian Coordinator, Bernie Garvey said local man, Mark Dwyer is riding amongst 100 Victorian participants. He hopes to see lots of support from the city.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn the morning, when we leave Ballarat, which will be 7.30 on Sunday morning, we\u2019ll be riding through Eureka Street and out via Old Melbourne road towards Gordon,\u201d Mr Garvey said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf people want to come out and wave, say g\u2019day and come for a chat first thing in the morning at the carpark at Sovereign Hill, they\u2019d be more than welcome.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This event marks the 10<sup>th<\/sup> anniversary of the Black Dog Ride.
