A RALLY supporting West Papua will be this Friday, 4pm to 6pm at the Sturt Street Rotunda between Dawson and Doveton Streets.<\/p>\n
Free West Papua Ballarat Support Group\u2019s John Lawrence said it\u2019s raising awareness of a petition Senator Richard Di Natale will present to parliament.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s to try and get our government to support Vanuatu\u2019s proposal to the United Nations General Assembly, to put West Papua back on the decolonisation list,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey are our nearest neighbour. In the last six decades almost 450,000 people have died.<\/p>\n
\u201cEvery Anzac Day we\u2019ve correctly mentioned the Fuzzy Wuzzy Angels that helped Australia so much in the second World War, maybe it\u2019s our time to help them,\u201d Mr Lawrence said.<\/p>\n
