The council encourages creative residents of the Shire to bounce off this theme, entering the Spring in the Shire photography competition.<\/p>\n
Amateur snappers who capture and highlight the things they enjoy about Golden Plains, whether they be country scenery, townships, parklands or beyond, will be eligible to enter one of three age categories, and could win a prize of $300.<\/p>\n
The Major Prize is for photographers over 18, the Young Adult Prize champions those 13 to 17 years old, and children up to 12 can enter the Junior Prize.<\/p>\n
For Mayor, Cr Owen Sharkey, the competition is a chance to celebrate the local government area\u2019s beauty and spirit.<\/p>\n
\u201cGolden Plains Shire has plenty to love and photograph,\u201d he said. \u201cIt could be your favourite walking track, one of the many beautiful landmarks around the shire, the best spot for coffee, or even your own backyard.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s fantastic to have the competition return for another year.\u201d<\/p>\n
