Mr Paul O\u2019Donohue, Managing Director of Central Highlands Water (CHW) said, \u201cWe are thrilled to congratulate Lee Marshall, one of our Water Treatment Operators, on winning the prestigious WIOA Victorian Operator of the Year award for 2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cLee is a great asset to CHW and is recognised and respected by his team, division and peers in the water industry. Lee often goes above and beyond his assigned duties and is a role model for providing service to our community.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe need for safe and reliable drinking water and effective wastewater management is critical to the health, safety, welfare, and economic viability throughout the CHW region and Lee is committed to this priority,\u201d Mr O\u2019Donohue said.<\/p>\n

The daily work performed by Lee and the CHW team, who are often on-call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, operating over 2,526km of water mains is no small job and not for everyone.<\/p>\n

\u201cI love working in the operations side of the water industry because it changes every day and requires a wide range of skills, and provides essential services to the community,\u201d Mr Marshall said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m extremely proud to be recognised for this award and the work we do for our customers and community in the region. I wasn\u2019t expecting to win the award, so being recognised for my work has been amazing, and I look forward to furthering my professional career in the industry.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lee has been employed at Central Highlands Water for the past 11 years, starting his career as a Field Maintenance Trainee, he’s now a Water Treatment Operator.<\/p>\n
