{"id":24841,"date":"2019-09-25T05:59:26","date_gmt":"2019-09-24T19:59:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/goldenplains\/?p=24841"},"modified":"2019-09-25T10:58:35","modified_gmt":"2019-09-25T00:58:35","slug":"the-magical-music-of-disney-on-stage","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/goldenplains\/news\/the-magical-music-of-disney-on-stage\/","title":{"rendered":"The magical music of Disney on stage"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>SPEND <em>A Day with Disney<\/em> in concert, when Ballarat Lyric Theatre brings the iconic songs to life on the Civic Hall Stage.<\/p>\n<p>Showcasing 20 local vocalists and a 20-piece orchestra, audiences may recognise Ballarat performers like Gareth Grainger, Bronte Wright and Callan Lewis.<\/p>\n<p>Lyric\u2019s President, Michael Whitehead said the recognisable music of <em>Frozen<\/em>, <em>The Lion King<\/em>, <em>Aladdin<\/em>, <em>Moana<\/em>, <em>Tangled<\/em> and more will have a broad school holiday appeal.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile the music is from the kids\u2019 movies, our cast of musicians will make the most of what are beautiful, high quality pieces,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt gives us an opportunity to put some of our principal cast of <em>Les Mis<\/em><em>\u00e9rables<\/em> on stage, and at the same time entertain both the kids and the parents.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe kids because of the content and the parents because of the quality.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>With plenty of room allocated for audience singing and dancing, Lyric is looking forward to performing in a different space.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s a great opportunity for us to see what the Civic Hall can do and showcase it to the community as a concert hall. It\u2019s a beautiful space,\u201d Mr Whitehead said.<\/p>\n<p>Six shows will run beginning tonight, Thursday 26 September at 7pm, with two shows on Friday, two on Saturday and a final performance at 11.30am on Sunday 29 September.<\/p>\n<p>Individual tickets are $25, a family of four is $80, or a group of 10 or more reduces the price per head to $20.
