THREE-hundred-and-forty-eight years. That\u2019s how much combined service the current volunteers of op-shop, Wozzles Wearhouse have given to Child and Family Services.<\/p>\n
This Saturday, 5 October from 10am to 3pm, Ballarat has the opportunity to meet this team when they present Wozzles\u2019 first book sale at their Mitchell Park processing facility.<\/p>\n
With books at bargain prices, there will be varying genres available, from cooking to gardening, crafts to sports, children\u2019s to adult fiction, biographies to encyclopedias, self-help and more.<\/p>\n
All generating money for Cafs\u2019 programs and services for children and families in need, there will also be a selection of DVDs, clothing, toys and bric-a-brac.<\/p>\n
Cafs\u2019 Narelle Burnside said it\u2019s valuable to visit the Patanga Court facility on Saturday for more than the sale.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s a huge range of books that we\u2019ve got, we\u2019re 95 per cent sure we\u2019ll have a coffee van, we\u2019ve got EFTPOS out here and lots of parking,\u201d she said. \u201cIt\u2019s worth coming out just to observe where people\u2019s donations go to, and where they\u2019re processed. I remember when I walked in here for the first time, I was like, oh my goodness.\u201d<\/p>\n
Three current volunteers have been with the charity for over 23 years, and Ms Burnside said visitors interested in becoming a volunteer can make an inquiry.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ve got packs ready to go for any interested volunteers,\u201d she said. \u201cThey can volunteer either in the shops, or out here. There\u2019s options.\u201d<\/p>\n
