ON Saturday, 12 October from 10am to 2pm, the craft work of highly skilled and motivated seniors of Ballarat will be on display and for sale at Ballarat North Community Centre, 702 Walker Street.<\/p>\n

The Makers\u2019 Market is an annual event held by the University of the 3rd Age, the largest single group of retired and semi-retired people in the district. The membership of over 1200, is dedicated to learning, to sharing experiences and skills and ensuring that people remain active both physically and mentally, after their busy working lives. U3A offers over 125 classes several of which are of a creative description<\/p>\n

Some of the work, either created in class or at home will be for sale including silver and beaded jewellery, mosaics, art work, knitted and crocheted goods, silk hand painted scarves, hand-made cards, sewn goods, woodwork, paper crafts, book-folded items and Celtic Band CDs, and much more.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s opportunity to buy an early Christmas gift or just indulge yourself with an item that has been lovingly hand-made. U3A craftspeople have brought experience, motivation and a love for their craft for every item they make. At the Market, you will also have the chance to talk with the actual maker and discuss the process behind the item.<\/p>\n

For people interested in finding out more about U3A, there will be an information table at the Market, and people in attendance able to discuss with you any interest you may have in U3A.<\/p>\n
