BROWN Hill Farmer\u2019s Market will be held around Lake Wendouree, not in the Brown Hill Hall as usual, on Saturday, 26 October.<\/p>\n
As well as the regular stall holders there will something special. Eighty beautifully cared for, and painstakingly restored, side-screen Triumph roadsters will be on show.<\/p>\n
Cars and drivers from across the country will roll up to the world\u2019s largest gathering of the sporty vehicles.<\/p>\n
Motoring enthusiasts and the community will be able to view the cars all built in Britain between 1954 and 1962.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is a testament to these cars that they are still around and they were ahead of their time,\u201d said Gary Waite, TR-Register Concours Director and State Co-ordinator.<\/p>\n
\u201cEveryone loves their shape, these roadsters have a wonderful tradition and an important place in motoring history.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe will have two cars available for joy rides giving people the opportunity to experience driving very low to the ground in these vintage roadsters.\u201d<\/p>\n
Motorists could purchase a Triumph during the 50s and 60s for less than \u00a31000. A restored roadster in good condition car would now be worth $60,000.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have two cars in Victoria that are worth about $130,000 if you include the purchase price of the car, plus the time in the restoration process,\u201d Mr Waite said.<\/p>\n
The Concours display will be near Piper\u2019s by the Lake on Saturday, 26 October from 10am to 3pm<\/p>\n
The cars which will be judged in various categories such as excellence in presentation, originality, road class, competition and derivative.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
