FOR years they were housemates in Melbourne and now they\u2019re reuniting to bring their sounds back home.<\/p>\n

Chelsea Donoghue and Brent Trotter will perform on Sunday, December 22 at Ballarat Carols by Candlelight<\/a> presented by Harcourts<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Also known as solo artist, Chevalier, Donoghue and her vocals have recently travelled the world supporting teen pop singer-songwriter, Ruel.<\/p>\n

Donoghue has always wanted to sing at Ballarat Carols by Candlelight, so was excited to be invited by the committee.<\/p>\n

\u201cBeing my hometown, it\u2019s very sentimental. Loving Christmas and singing all the carols, it\u2019s something that I\u2019d always do with my family in the lead up to Christmas,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cNow I\u2019ve moved out of Ballarat and have performed all around the country and overseas, it\u2019s super special to come back and it will feel nostalgic.\u201d<\/p>\n

Trotter, known for work in Jersey Boys<\/em>, and his performances on screen in Neighbours<\/em>, Rush<\/em> and Miss Fischer\u2019s Murder Mysteries<\/em>, made his stage debut with BLOC.<\/p>\n

\u201cI did my first musical, Oliver<\/em> with Matt Hustwaite, Carol\u2019s President, in 2001,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

No stranger to the Carols, Trotter initially performed in the Ballarat event as an eight-year-old and has sung on the festive stage three times.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Carols are a nice little institution. It\u2019s a lot of fun, I always loved singing at Carols, and it\u2019s really good to do it in my hometown. A lot of people don\u2019t realise how much talent comes out of Ballarat,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s good to have the calibre of people to come back. It\u2019s going to be a really schmick show, I\u2019m pretty excited to be a part of it.\u201d<\/p>\n

There is something, beyond a love of Christmas, which Donoghue said binds many of the singers announced to take the Carols stage.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I look at all the artists, the common link is Connie Lemke, and it\u2019s kind of like she\u2019s created this musical hub,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s friendships, there\u2019s amazing memories over the years, and success that\u2019s stemmed from her own teaching school.<\/p>\n
