{"id":64643,"date":"2019-10-28T05:56:37","date_gmt":"2019-10-27T18:56:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/goldenplains\/?p=64643"},"modified":"2019-10-23T13:33:11","modified_gmt":"2019-10-23T02:33:11","slug":"ballarat-show-set-to-shine","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/goldenplains\/news\/ballarat-show-set-to-shine\/","title":{"rendered":"Ballarat Show set to shine"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>PREPARATIONS for this year\u2019s Ballarat Show are well underway with animals, music, rides, fantastic food, showbags and spectacular fireworks all on the itinerary.<\/p>\n<p>Organisers are expecting at least 25,000 people to flow though the gates over three days of the event, including the Friday, 8 November public holiday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt&#8217;s taken us a good nine months to plan this and there&#8217;s so much that goes into it,\u201d said Ballarat Agricultural and Pastoral Society Executive Officer, Lucy Quartermain.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-64645\" src=\"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/goldenplains\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/23\/2019\/10\/DSC_0334-for-web-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/23\/2019\/10\/DSC_0334-for-web-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/23\/2019\/10\/DSC_0334-for-web-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/23\/2019\/10\/DSC_0334-for-web-1024x682.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/23\/2019\/10\/DSC_0334-for-web-272x182.jpg 272w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>On the classic agricultural themes you\u2019d expect from the Ballarat Show organisers said that entries in the cattle, sheep, horses, goats, poultry and dog selections have been strong.<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019ll also be other opportunities to learn about life on the land, including the fine art of whip cracking.<\/p>\n<p>The entertainment offering will also be strong with kids\u2019 entertainers The Mik Maks, Ballarat\u2019s <em>Australia\u2019s Got Talent<\/em> winner Kristy Sellars and Tamworth Golden Guitar winner Travis Sinclair heading the line-up.<\/p>\n<p>The importance of the show is more than just a great day out and helping to bring country life to people who may not get to experience it often.<\/p>\n<p>Ms Quartermain said the event has wider impacts and puts millions of dollars into the Ballarat economy each year.<\/p>\n<p>The Ballarat Show runs from Friday, 8 to Sunday, 10 November.
