THE newly upgraded Mount Pleasant Reserve will the home its community\u2019s evening of Christmas Carols on Sunday, 8 December.<\/p>\n
Coordinated by the Mount Pleasant Community Connections Group in partnership with the City of Ballarat, the event from 6pm to 8pm will see Mount Pleasant Primary School and Phoenix P-12 Community College choirs perform alongside The Little Brass Band.<\/p>\n
Ballarat East Neighbourhood House\u2019s Kate Owen organises activities every day for the community to come together and said it\u2019s exciting to \u201cactivate\u201d the refreshed reserve space.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt provides that sense of identity for the Mount Pleasant area and beyond,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s busy at the end of the year but it\u2019s a lovely time to stop, really come together and enjoy an evening together, leading into a happy and safe holiday period.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe carols are a fun filled night, people can bring their own picnic, but we do provide fruit for the children and will have a subsidised Bean Me Up coffee van and Hippy Whippy ice cream,\u201d Ms Owen said.<\/p>\n
The Vintage and Classic Car Club will bring Santa and his helpers and activities from the YMCA will be available. A playground is on site.<\/p>\n
If the weather is wet, the event will move to Mount Pleasant Primary School. It is a drug and alcohol free evening.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
