ORGANISERS of the Ballarat Carols by Candlelight<\/a> have announced that Daryl Somers will not be hosting the event.<\/p>\n

President of the organising committee, Matt Hustwaite, said he was \u201cdisappointed\u201d that Somers was no longer involved but the show would go on.<\/p>\n

“We’re disappointed to lose someone of Daryl’s calibre, but we’re still on track to deliver an outstanding event,\u201d Mr Hustwaite said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe thank Daryl for his generosity and enthusiasm as we worked towards Ballarat Carols by Candlelight, and we hope to still have many people come along to this special event.\u201d<\/p>\n

In a joint statement issued by Carols\u2019 management and Somers, the latter explained why he was unable to continue in the key role.<\/p>\n

\u201cI regret I will be unable to be with you for this year\u2019s Carols due to personal circumstances that are beyond my control, but I\u2019m confident that Ballarat Carols By Candlelight will forge ahead and deliver a successful show on December 22nd at City Oval,\u201d Somers said.<\/p>\n

With the biggest beneficiary of the Ballarat Carols by Candlelight being this year\u2019s 3BA Christmas Appeal, Somers urged people to head to the event and enjoy a great night of entertainment while helping a worthy cause.<\/p>\n

\u201cThough it’s unfortunate I can\u2019t be there, I still encourage everyone to get behind this wonderful event,\u201d Sommers said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat the people of Ballarat bring to this appeal through their generosity will help a great deal and, in the spirit of Christmas, I’ll be making a personal donation to the 3BA Christmas Appeal.\u201d<\/p>\n
