THE 3BA Christmas Appeal is ensuring mothers feel valued this Christmas, not just generating toys for the children of less fortunate families.<\/p>\n
With many parents, especially mothers, the victims of domestic violence, 3BA Christmas Appeal\u2019s Peter Caligari said it was \u201cparticularly important\u201d for them to also have something at Christmas time.<\/p>\n
Working with UFS and receiving additional donations from Mars Wrigley and Regent Cinemas, gift bags have been assembled which include moisturisers and hand cream, a reusable coffee cup, body wash, Pods and a movie pass.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere\u2019s no Mother\u2019s Day, there\u2019s no birthdays, there\u2019s no wedding anniversaries. They\u2019re not part of these domestic violence victims\u2019 lives,\u201d Mr Caligari said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThat\u2019s why we thought we\u2019d demonstrate to them that they are not the forgotten members of our community. That\u2019s why we\u2019ve got a special gift for them.\u201d<\/p>\n
Heather Taylor is part of UFS\u2019s Marketing and Communications team. The organisation was \u201cmore than happy\u201d to show their support to those who need it.<\/p>\n
\u201cAny profits that UFS generates go back into the community through benefits to our members and supporting our communities through our sponsorship and donations program,\u201d she said. \u201cThrough that program, we were able to supply the gifts in the bags.\u201d<\/p>\n
3BA General Manager, John Fitzgibbon said UFS is indicative of the support the appeal receives from the city\u2019s broader business community.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s a great partnership for us because UFS is truly local and everything that they\u2019re doing and we\u2019re doing stays here in Ballarat,\u201d he said. \u201cIt\u2019s reaffirming a long partnership between our businesses in a new fashion.\u201d<\/p>\n
