BALLARAT\u2019S junior bowls development side, the Gold Diggers, were too strong for the Bendigo Dragons during their yearly tournament hosted at Webbcona Bowling Club on Thursday, 9 January.<\/p>\n

Twenty-six juniors represented their regions ranging from six to 17 years old. All games were played with great team spirit with all players supporting and encouraging each other.<\/p>\n

Following the Gold Diggers retaking the championship shield they headed to Leopold Sportsman Club to take on the Geelong Giants on Sunday, 12 January.<\/p>\n

The Gold Diggers just missed out on bringing a second shield home on four days.<\/p>\n

After a full day of competitive Singles, Pairs, Triples and Fours, the decider was an intense measure on the last end with the Giants narrowly defeating the Diggers.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
