Alongside her team of 10 staff, she feels very \u201cprivileged to be part of something new\u201d and has enjoyed watching the students discover their fresh environment.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey were all very excited to be using brand new equipment, trying out the playgrounds and the hard courts, and getting to know other students in the school,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cBecause we\u2019re only small, the older children and the younger children were interacting really well, and I feel like we\u2019re going to be a very inclusive and supportive learning communities.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe staff, students and families are the very first ever, so it\u2019s making history today.\u201d<\/p>\n
Ms Sawyer said the vision is to maximise learning growth for all pupils.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe want to provide an environment where it\u2019s inclusive, supportive and they\u2019re challenged in their learning… so they\u2019re able to grow and achieve their best.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ve put lots of hard work and planning into creating this amazing school, and we\u2019re looking forward to building that culture of excellence with the school community, focussing on ensuring that each child achieves success and they receive high quality teaching and learning every day,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
Lucas Primary School has been a $17.1 million project with purpose-built learning communities, admin areas, PE and performing arts spaces ready to go.<\/p>\n
It has a straight prep grade, and three composite classes. Ms Sawyer is looking forward to launching the visual arts and STEM building later in February upon its completion.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
