AS heat wave breaking storms swept across the region on Saturday, the weather event played havoc with the Ballarat District Bowls Division\u2019s Saturday Pennant.<\/p>\n
In the Premier division BMS had a good win against Central Wendouree, 81-57, however the points do not count as all other matches were abandoned.<\/p>\n
There was little play in Division 1, with all matches were abandoned other than City Oval v Waubra which was cancelled as City Oval closed their greens prior to 10.30am.<\/p>\n
Division 2 was also a write off, with all match ups abandoned barring City Oval v Daylesford which was cancelled.<\/p>\n
There was a bit of play in Division 3. Smeaton snuck home by two shots over Sebastopol, 91-89. Learmonth defeated Midlands, 109-78. Yet all points are shared as majority of games were abandoned.<\/p>\n
Things actually counted in Division 4 despite the cancellation of City Oval v Daylesford and the abandonment of Webbcona against Buninyong. All other matches were comfortable wins. BMS defeated Central Wendouree, 101-74. Sebastopol had a win against Mount Xavier, 117-60 and Victoria were too strong for Avenue, 133-57.<\/p>\n
In Division 5 Ballarat East gave a walkover to Sebastopol. All other games saw no action and therefore points are shared.<\/p>\n
Again, all points shared in Division 6 with three matches abandoned. Where bowlers did hit the greens Clunes proved too strong for Ballarat North, 130-65 and BMS won comfortably against Sebastopol, 101-66.<\/p>\n
Division 7 saw Victoria with the Bye. BMS had a good win defeating Buninyong, 101-81. All other matches were abandoned.<\/p>\n
There was no play in Division 8 as Daylesford had the Bye and all other matches were abandoned.<\/p>\n
